Prerequisite: Advance Placement Biology is a course offered to students who wish to take the Advanced Placement Exam in Biology. The suggested prerequisites for AP Biology are at least a C in Honors Biology and a C in Honors Chemistry. Students who received an A in CP Biology and CP Chemistry may take the course with a teacher recommendation from either a former Biology or Chemistry teacher.


AP Biology is a college level Biology course taught at the high school level. The course is a lab science course that concentrates on the following topics:

Molecular Biology and Cells (25%)

Heredity and Evolution (50%)

Organisms and Population (50%).

The course topic outline and all 12 laboratories are specified by the College Board. All students enrolled in the course are encouraged to take the AP examination
