Prerequisite: AP Calculus is an advanced course, which is offered to students who wish to take AP Calculus Exam. The suggested pre-requisites, for AP calculus are:
1) Achieve at least a "B" in Math Analysis.
2) Achieve at least a "B" in Algebra II.
3) The teacher's recommendation.

AP Calculus is a college level course taught at the high-school level. The course builds on Algebra I and Geometry, and Mathematics Analysis, and consists of work in the colleges and universities. Students will learn all twenty-seven Calculus standards for the state of California. Emphasis will be placed on theorems evaluating the limits of sums, products, quotient, composition functions, formal definition and graphical interpretation of continuity of a function, derivatives, L'Hopital's rule, differentiation, Newton's method for approximating the zero of a function, Optimization, fundamental theorem of Calculus to interpret integrals and anti-derivatives, trigonometric functions and their applications, and other important topics.
