Twelfth grade Advanced Placement English is a college level course designed for students who have achieved a level of reading and writing skills generally expected of first year university and college students, and who will be ready for advanced or more specialized English courses in college. AP English literature covers the California Standards for the twelfth grade. Course content consists of intense reading and critical analysis of world literature in each genre, as well as writing experiences, which will develop the student's sense of style and them. Students will read at least three longer text (novel, dramas, epics, etc.) each semester. The culmination of the course will be the A.P. English Literature and composition Exam in May. There are summer reading requirements that should be completed before the start of the year. Students enrolling in this class can obtain summer reading requirements through the instructor, and/ or the Century website.
