This is YOUR library. I hope you will use it often. The library aides are trained to assist you. We are here to help, so please ask if you are not finding what you need..

The library currently has almost 20, 000 items, most of which are available to check out.

Red tape on the spine of the book with the letters REF mean that it is a reference book and for use only in the library.

Finding books:

Search the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) by subject, author or title. Write down the call number and find the book.

You must have your identification card or locator card to check out a book. Books are checked out for two weeks. If you need a book for longer, please renew it. You do not have to have the book with you to renew it. This will avoid late fees. Fines are ten cents a day for overdue books.

Computers: Are for students school work first! You must display your id when using the internet. The black dot on you ID card means you have signed an acceptable use contract and can use the internet responsible.

Databases:. Pick up a book mark with the passwords at the library circulation desk.

Grolieronline: This is an online encyclopedia with great maps, graphics, biographies and more.

EBSCO This comprehensive database, designed specifically for high school libraries, contains full text for nearly 600 popular, high school magazines. Additionally, MAS Ultra ™ (School Edition) contains 518 pamphlets, more than 250 reference books (including the Columbia Encyclopedia, the CIA World Fact Book and World Almanac & Book of Facts), an Image Collection of 107,135 photos, maps & flags, color PDFs and expanded full text backfiles (back to 1975) for key magazines.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center (OVRC) A dynamic online library of current event topics--the facts, as well as the arguments, of each topic's proponents and detractors. OVRC's unique features include Topic Overviews -- frameworks which allow students to explore each topic's many facets -- and exclusive electronic access to Gale's Information Plus reference program of statistics, government data, legislation and more.

Magazines (AKA periodicals) We subscribe to twenty magazines. The current issue stays in the library. Past issues can be checked out.
