The Model United Nations program here at Century High School is very important. Not only do the members get to meet many different kinds of people, but they also get to travel to other states and this year a few of the students from the Junior/Senior classes are taking a trip to China. This program helps its members learn to feel comfortable speaking in front of a group of people. It also helps people learn the value of knowing how to research for anything that is thrown their way. Basically, this program is not only good for simulations in the MUN class, but it also helps members in the rest of their classes. If they have to give an oral presentation in any of their other classes, they could do it smoothly with the experience that the MUN program has taught them to develop.
The MUN program gives it's members the opportunity to express themselves verbally. The seniors and juniors are mostly in charge of this conference but they have to earn their spot in the secratariat. The way to earn that spot is to win awards at the conferences that they go to and to do their MUN work. It takes a lot of work to be a part of the MUN program, but it all ends up being worth it.
