A.P Physics B

Prerequisite: AP Physics B is a non-calculus based course offered to students who wish to take the AP Physics B exam. The suggested prerequisites for AP Physics are:

1) achieve at least a B in Honors Physics, Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry.

2) achieve a B in Algebra II.

3) be concurrently enrolled in Math Analysis.

Sudents who hve received a grade of at least a B in CP Physics, CP Biology, or CP Chemistry may also take the course with a recommenddation from their previous years' science teacher.



AP Physics is a college Physics course taught at the high school level. AP Physics B is a laboratory science that concentrates on the following topics:

Newton Mechanics (35%)

Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Physics (15%)

Electricity and Magnetism (25%)

Waves and Optics (15%)

Atomic and Nuclear Physics (10%)
