The Advanced Placement U.S. History class is designed, along with the MUN component, to provide students with the analytical, research and communication skills to deal critically with the problems and materials in U.S History and in the current world. The course will continue the development of skills that have been taught in MUN courses since freshman year that are necessary for success in college an/or university. This course will also provide the students the opportunity to participate in the Model United Nations Program. This part of the course will allow students to develop vital skills that are a must for success in college. The students will gain a valuable knowledge of major issues confronting the world today. The statements will participate in Model United Nations Conferences during the year. Local high schools and colleges sponsor these conferences. Students will get to work with and get to know students from other schools. There will also be an opportunity to attend MUN conferences on the East Coast, Northern California, and Overseas (China, Europe are possibilities for 2005-06.)
