Progresive Discipline Plan

The Discipline Office follows a Progressive Discipline Plan. The concept of progressive discipline plan is designed to assure positive classroom and campus behavior. It is recognized that all students are not the same and that each possess unique characteristics that control his or her behavior patterns. Misbehavior will be dealt with firmly, consistently, fairly, and to the extent necessary to ensure a safe and positive environment and accelerated for any pupil who continues to violate school rules.

The pupil's duties are set forth in the Code of Student Behavior:
As a student in the Santa Ana schools, I have the responsibility to exercise self-discipline so that the rights of all are respected and a good learning environment can be maintained, I understand that I shall be held responsible for understanding and complying with this code of student behavior.

Detention Policies

You accumulate your detentions all year if you do not serve them. You have to serve them all in order to register next year. You have to finish serving detentions this year (2002-2003) before June 15, 2003

You can serve detentions in the morning from 7;00 to 7:54 A.M. at the discipline office or in the afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 P,M. in room 313 or 314. Please check with the discipline office first.


Saturday School/Work Policies

If you fail to serve your Saturday's you have the opportunity to reschedule your Saturday's before 6/15/02. Make sure to check availability with us. Right now we are booked until 6/1/02 so hurry up and reschedule. If you didn't reschedule your Saturday's each Saturday you had will turn into 4 hours detention at the end of the school year 2002-2003 and you won't be able to register next year.

If you loose your white slip for Saturday School/Work, don't panic. We will send you a blue flyer the Friday before you have your Saturday and you can use it as your proof that you are scheduled to be there that Saturday.

Tardies:

     1st to 2nd Offense - Teacher Handles
     3rd Offense - 1 Hour Detention
     4th Offense - 2 Hours Detention
     5th Offense - Saturday School

Truancies:

     Out of class without permission - Saturday School
     Failure to serve teacher's detention:
          1st Offense - Reassign detention. Parent contact.
          2nd Offense - Saturday Work/Behavior contract.
