English 1-2 Transitional is a literature based, two semester course using a thematic approach to poetry, drama, fiction, and non-fiction. Throughout the course listening, speaking, reading, critical thinking skills, and vocabulary development will be integrated. Writing as a process will be emphasized. Literature will be selected from the core and extended reading list for ninth grade. Methodology is designed for the student transitioning from ELD into the general language arts program.
