Beginning Journalism is an introductory course which explores the importance of newspapers as a form of mass communications in today's society. This course will help develop writing skills as students learn news, features, editorial, and sports writing. Techniques of interviewing, planning layout design, choosing photographs, selling advertising, and all other aspects of newspaper production are included. In addition, students will study contemporary literature in genres related to mass communication.
