9/11/02 Ceremony On the first anniversary of the 9/11 incident, the Century High School Band and Colorguard performed the Star Spangled Banner. The United Student Body members raised the American Flag, first to full mast and then to half mast, in honor of the lives lost on that tragic day. Although the band had been together only 3 days, they felt it was important to perform the banner as a unit. The students worked hard getting instruments and music issued to make the morning performance. Students that were moving to class stopped and held a hand over their heart in honor of those that died. It was simple, but a solemn and meaningful contribution to acknowledge the day. |
