Sierra Middle School Guests On Thursday, September 17 at the third home game of the season, the Century High School Marching Centurions welcomed, the Sierra Marching Ranger Band from Sierra Middle School. For the past few years, the Sierra Middle School Band, under the direction of Mrs. Susan Torrey has participated at a Century High School Football game. They perform on the field with the High School Band during pre-game ceremonies, performing the Star Spangled Banner. This performance, gives the Middle School students a chance to see what the high school level is about. They not only practice and learn the Star Spangled Banner, but have the opportunity to watch the High School students perform their competitive field show at halftime. They also have the opportunity to mingle with the older kids in the stands playing such old time favorites as Louie, Louie, and Go Big Blue. Sierra Middle School is one of Century's strongest feeder schools. It is always nice to see the students going through the junior high program continue on to the high school program here at Century. |
