On Saturday, October 26th, a small contingent of Century High School Band members performed the Star Spangled Banner at the re-opening ceremony for the Minnie Street

Complex.

Members dressed in uniform, walked from Century High School to the Minnie Street area, which had been under construction for the past 2 years.  The area houses belong to many of our students from Century, which is why the band felt it was important to perform.  We wanted to let the community know that we appreciated the hard work and dedication it took to bring this area back to something that its neighbors would be proud of.

After the introductions of the city VIP's in attendance, the small group of wind and percussion students performed the Star Spangled Banner in the center of the street to begin the celebration.  It was a beautiful.

Members that performed were:

Trumpets:             Luis Lucero, Josue Lopez

Trombones:          Danny Medina, Xander Avila, Mayra Ortega

Baritone:              Mike Sanchez

Alto Sax:              Arlene Victoria, Jose Jimenez

Tuba:                    Huber Arias

Percussion:          Eric Garibay, Danny Ortiz, Eliud Hernandez

Members from the Santa Ana High School ROTC unit presented the Colors.
