Part 1: Goals/Career Development
1.) Letter of Introduction
a.) letter will explain the portfolio and how his/her accomplishments have prepared him/her for career (pathways) or plans after high school
2.) Resume
3.) One example of a formal document i.e., financial aid, scholarship, loan, technical school, college or job application
4.) One letter of recommendation
Part 2: Growth
1.) Reflective essay (English)
Students write reflective essays on their overall growth as students during their four years in high school. Students will address how they have grown as a person, academically, and as a member of the community. This will also address what they have learned and how they will apply that knowledge to their future goals.
2.) Evidence that reflects growth in one area. Student will include an earlier piece and a later piece to show academic improvement in that particular area of study. A short abstract explaining evidence of growth will precede the work.(guidelines are included)
3.) Unofficial transcript
Part 3: Performance/Accomplishments (other than English/all subject areas)
1.) Three pieces of student’s best work with caption sheets
*If a paper is from an earlier year, student shall include the original piece and a revised copy that has been brought up to senior level.
2.) Proof of community service ( 10 hours to be done outside of school time)
3.) Certificates, additional letters of recommendation, awards, etc. (optional)
